IDE Technologies announced that Bomo Environmental Eng., part of the SPBC (BOMO) group, has purchased two IDE horizontal MVC evaporators to establish a new produced water treatment facility in Karamay, Xinjian—the first of its kind in China. The facility will also be the first in China to operate under a build-operate-own (BOO) model.

The evaporators will process and treat produced water to continuously supply high-quality distillate, yielding a total capacity of 5,000 cu meters per day. The pre-fabricated evaporators will be shipped to the site after assembly and testing, minimizing onsite work, saving time, and reducing construction and installation costs. The horizontal design’s low footprint and the operator-friendly mechanical design also provide easy access to key components, as well as improved safety for operation and maintenance personnel.

“We are proud to be selected by Bomo Environmental Eng. to build the first produced water treatment facility in China, built as a BOO project. This project is the beginning of a long-term partnership,” said Avshalom Felber, CEO of IDE Technologies. “Over the last three years, IDE has been increasing its activity in the oil & gas industry worldwide, providing reliable, sustainable and economical solutions. IDE brings over 50 years of experience to this market. With this project, we look forward to becoming the industry’s preferred water partner and expanding our presence in this key market.”

The new facility will treat produced water from Shengli Oil’s Xinchun oil field. Operated under a BOO license for 15 years, it will provide high-quality boiler feed water for steam production.
