Nanostone Water Adds Global Applications Engineering Leader

Stanton R. Smith joined Nanostone Water as global applications engineering leader, responsible for spearheading the company’s pilot program and applications engineering efforts for ceramic membranes.

Smith brings more than 15 years of commercial and technical experience in the water and membrane industry. He has experience driving international strategic growth through the innovation and commercialization of membrane based technologies.

Most recently as business development manager for Veolia Water, Smith developed global market opportunities and market entry strategies for the CeraMem ceramic membrane product line across a range of industrial markets including upstream and downstream oil and gas and primary metals. Prior to Veolia, Smith was the principal engineer for the Pall Corp. where he developed and led strategic technology development programs for the company’s membrane business.

Smith completed his doctorate as a Rhodes Scholar in membrane separation, followed by a post-doctoral position at Oxford University. He also holds a B.Sc. in chemical engineering from the University of Cape Town in South Africa.
