WSP has been selected as one of two U.S. consultancy partners to CDP’s pilot water consultancy partnership.
CDP launched the water consultancy partnership this year with a goal to better support company engagement with and improvement of water management and stewardship. With expertise in water risk assessment, water accounting, the development of water strategies, and the development of corporate water stewardship plans, CDP’s water consulting partners anticipate working closely with responding companies to provide guidance and expertise on a range of water-related issues.
“WSP is proud to expand our partnership in the U.S. to include both the water and climate change programs," said Eric Christensen, practice leader, Sustainability and Energy at WSP. "The WSP team has extensive experience supporting clients in all aspects of water stewardship; our partnership with CDP water signifies our commitment to helping clients navigate the CDP response process while improving water measurement and management.”
CDP is an international not-for-profit organization providing the only global natural capital disclosure system. CDP drives corporate awareness of how to increase efficiency, realize monetary savings, and capitalize on commercial opportunities from the management of energy, climate change, water and forest-risk commodities in direct operations and across supply chains.
The water program focuses specifically on corporate water stewardship with an aim to safeguard the world’s water resources. Through its network of investors, CDP’s water program targets the largest listed companies in the world in sectors for which water is a material issue. Now in its fourth year, the water program has seen significant increase in investor support and now includes 573 investor signatories managing $60 trillion in assets. Through CDP’s water program, investors are able to promote corporate water stewardship as a key component of a resilient and sustainable business.
“CDP is delighted that WSP is supporting the water program as a silver consultancy partner in the U.S.,” said Cate Lamb, head of CDP’s water program. “WSP demonstrates a strategic approach to help companies measure, manage, and report their water-related impacts and the steps needed to reduce them. The expertise that the WSP team brings to CDP's work to enhance water security makes them a valuable contributor as a consultancy partner.”
