Xylem Launches New Dewatering Pump

Pump is specifically designed for lower head dewatering applications
April 16, 2013

Xylem Inc. has launched a new Godwin pump specifically designed for lower head dewatering applications. The Godwin Vac-Prime is an efficient, automatic, self-priming dewatering solution ideally suited to well-pointing. The new pump will be unveiled for the first time at Bauma tradeshow, April 15 to 21, 2013 in Munich, Germany.

As a result of its compact size, the pump is easy to transport. It does not require specialist transport and with its lifting frame, fork pockets and optional wheels, it needs minimal on-site equipment. The speed of air evacuation that it delivers is due to a combination of the highly efficient vacuum pump and the fast-priming system.

Godwin Vac-Prime 4-in. and 6-in. models can manage heads of 11 to 25 meters, flows of 100-374 cu meters per hour and solids handling of 45 to 75 millimeters. The automatic, self-priming pump means more uptime and makes it ideal for a range of applications including draining canals, dewatering open excavations, basements, quarries, pumping water containing solids, pumping bentonite and drilling muds well as well-pointing. The pump’s cast steel impeller aids shatter-resistance.
