American Public Works Assn. Announces 2012-13 Board of Directors
Elizabeth Treadway, PWLF, became president of the American Public Works Assn. (APWA) during the 2012 APWA International Public Works Congress and Exposition in Anaheim, Calif. Serving as president for a one-year term, Treadway will lead the organization. Treadway is currently Principal, Water Resources with AMEC Environment and Infrastructure, in Johnson City, Tenn.
Treadway is joined on the board of directors by APWA President-Elect Ed Gottko, P.E., PWLF, town administrator (retired), Westfield, N.J. Gottko will serve a one-year term as APWA president-elect, followed by consecutive president and past-president one-year terms. Also on the board is Past-President Diane Linderman, P.E., PWLF, of Vanasse Hangen Brustlin Inc. (VHB) in Richmond, Va.
New and re-elected members to the APWA Board of Directors for 2012-13 include: Rick Stinson, PWLF, director of public works, Wakefield, Mass., for Region I director; William (Bo) Mills, PWLF, director of public services, Germantown, Tenn., for director of Region III; and Tommy Brown, PWLF, superintendent of fleet services, LaGrange, Ga., for director of Region IV; as well as Linda Petelka, B.Sc., manager of the wastewater program planning section, the regional municipality of Peel, ON., Canada, as Region V director.
The re-elected APWA Board members include: Larry Stevens, P.E., PWLF, senior project manager, Howard R. Green Co., Johnston, Iowa., for Region VI director; Jimmy B. Foster, P.E., PWLF, Jacobs Engineering program manager (retired), Plano, Texas for Region VII director; and Ronald J. Calkins, P.E., PWLF, director of public works (retired), Ventura, Calif. for Region VIII director.
Other re-elected Board members include Brian R. Usher, PWLF, director of public works, Largo, Fla., for director-at-large, fleet and facilities management; Cora Jackson-Fossett, PWLF, public information director II for the Public Affairs Office of the City of Los Angeles Department of Public Works, for director-at-large, leadership and management; and Susan Hann, P.E., AICP, ICMA-CM, city manager of Palm Bay, Fla., for director-at-large, transportation.
The new members of the APWA Board are Jill Marilley, P.E., MPA, PWLF, senior project manager with HDR Inc. in the Seattle area, Region IX director; Harry L. Weed, PWLF, superintendent of public works, Rockville Centre, N.Y., Region II director; David L. Lawry, P.E., director of village operations, Wauconda, Ill., for director-at-large, engineering and technology; and William E. (Bill) Spearman, III, P.E., of Woolpert Inc., Columbia, S.C., for director-at-large, environmental management.
