Oct. 27, 2011

Bethlehem Precast President Tom Engelman began his 12-month term as chairman of the board on Oct. 15

Tom Engelman, president of Bethlehem Precast in Bethlehem, Pa., has been elected National Precast Concrete Assn.’s (NPCA) 47th chairman of the board. Engelman took the gavel to begin his 12-month term Oct. 15 at its 46th Annual Convention in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho.

A lifelong precaster and long-term NPCA member, Engelman said in his convention speech, “For me, there’s nothing better than being a part of this group. This is like family. Most of us come from family owned businesses and share common problems. No matter the issue, I’ve always got somebody to call and it goes deeper than that. My wife and I have made lifelong friends here.”

Also elected to the board for three-year terms were Andy Wieser, president of Wieser Concrete in Wisconsin; Ashley Smith, president of Smith-Midland Corp. in Virginia; Greg Stratis, manager of Shea Concrete in Massachusetts; and Stewart Luckman, national sales manager for Columbia Machine in Washington.
