Dewberry Awarded Southern California Edison Contract

Water resources engineers to develop hydrology and hydraulics simulation model for Big Creek system

Sept. 27, 2011

Dewberry has recently been awarded a water resources engineering contract with Southern California Edison, one of the largest electric utilities in the U.S.

The project involves developing a real-time, numerical water resource model to simulate the hydrology and hydraulics of the upper San Joaquin River watershed as it pertains to the Big Creek hydrographic system.

The Big Creek hydrographic system covers roughly 1,650 sq miles of the upper San Joaquin River watershed in the central High Sierra region of California. The upper San Joaquin River watershed is the source region for much of California’s potable water supply.

Dewberry engineers in the company’s Sacramento-area office will integrate meteorological data collection, hydrologic modeling, reservoir operation simulation and hydraulic analysis to create the water resources model.
