The WateReuse Research Foundation, which conducts and promotes applied research on water reuse and desalination, announced the selection of Julie Minton as the new director of research programs. In her new role, Minton will manage the foundation’s research program, including all project managers and respective projects. She begins her tenure immediately.
Minton joined the foundation staff on June 1, 2009, as a project manager. She previously worked as a researcher at the National Institutes of Health and at a middle school teaching life science. She came to the foundation from a voice and data integration startup company where she was a project manager for four years. She has a bachelor’s in biology from St. Mary’s College of Maryland.
Minton replaces Joshua M. Dickinson, who was promoted to deputy executive director of the WateReuse Research Foundation in June 2011. In his new role, Dickinson will focus on alternative funding sources for the foundation’s research program. Dickinson joined the foundation in August 2005 after seven years as an environmental consultant.
