Mark Gabriel Hired to Lead Black & Veatch's Strategy Practice

Gabriel will work within company's management consulting business

Black & Veatch’s management consulting business has expanded its expertise in utility strategic planning with the addition of Mark Gabriel. In his new role, Gabriel will lead the company’s strategy practice, which helps clients manage risks and enhance performance across their utility operations.

“Mark is a nationally renowned industry leader and premier strategist in the utility business,” said Rodger Smith, president of the company’s management consulting business. “He has a proven and extensive track record in helping clients leverage people, technology, product and service offerings and competitive market position, to achieve sustained organizational success.”

Gabriel has more than 20 years of utility-focused experience. Prior to joining Black & Veatch, he was a senior vice president at a national business and technical consulting agency. He currently serves on the board of directors for Argos Utilities Inc., and is based in Denver.

Among his many accomplishments, Gabriel authored the book Visions for a Sustainable Energy Future. The book provides a blueprint for utility technology strategy and won the 2009 Indie Award for Excellence in Environmental Writing.
