Hydro-Guard to Demonstrate Automatic Flushing Systems at ACE10

June 23, 2010

Affordable, automatic and programmable water distribution line flushing and maintenance for municipalities and private utilities will be the focus of the Hydro-Guard exhibit at Booth #355 at ACE10, June 20 to 24 in Chicago.

Through interactive displays, Hydro-Guard will demonstrate how its automatic and programmable flushing systems—including its recently introduced telemetry controlled, SCADA-compatible S.M.A.R.T. System—can reduce water consumption associated with required flushing programs by as much as 180,000 gal per site annually; allows municipalities to reallocate staff or fill the void from staff reductions; and saves as much as $13,000 per unit in the first year of operation.

According to the U.S. EPA, automatic flushing (permanent and temporary) is now approved for Green Projects Reserve grant funding. This alternative funding program enables municipalities nationwide to advance their water quality infrastructure and maintenance programs while reducing water consumption related to flushing procedures.
