Dr. Lukas Loeffler Named New CEO of Siemens Water Technologies
Effective Oct. 1, 2010, Dr. Lukas Loeffler, 52, will head Siemens Water Technologies, headquartered in Warrendale, Pa. As the CEO of the Siemens Industry Solutions (IS) Business Unit, he will take the helm from Chuck Gordon, who is leaving the company at his own request.
“Lukas Loeffler has extensive technical experience and great integrative capability,” said Jens Wegmann, CEO of Siemens IS. “His expertise will help him to continue strengthening our position in the international water business.”
Loeffler has been a member of Siemens management since 2005 as the head of Business Unit Infrastructure Logistics, based in Arlington, Texas, and as part of the Mobility Division. Before that, he was responsible for the global research and development activities of the Currency Automation and Services Division of Giesecke & Devrient GmbH. From 1994 to 1996 he held various positions in the AEG business unit Postal Automation, among others in business development and strategy. After Siemens acquired AEG’s postal automation business, he headed product development until 1998. The graduate in electrical engineering started his career at Robert Bosch GmbH and Daimler-Benz AG.
“In his new position, Lukas Loeffler is taking over responsibility for a business that serves the world’s most exciting and attractive markets. For this challenging position we are pleased to have found an adept manager with international experience who will be able to decisively set the course for Siemens Water Technologies,” said Wegmann.
