Aquatech China 2010 Deemed Success

July 22, 2010
Visitor numbers total more than 20,000 as show grows by 30%

The third edition of Aquatech China 2010, held June 2 to 4, 2010, was dubbed a great success. The show grew by 30% and featured 657 exhibitors showing their latest products, services and technologies. It drew more than 20,000 visitors from the national and international water world.

The next edition of the show will be held from June 1 to 3, 2011, in Shanghai, China.

Wastewater
This year the show had special attention for the wastewater industry. To emphasize this, organizers organized the Best Wastewater Solution Contest. An expert panel of judges selected a number of products to be nominated and water professionals in China were invited to vote for the best solution. The award for the Best Wastewater Solution went to ITT China for its wastewater tertiary treatment total solution.

Innovation
Simultaneously, the Innovation Contest was introduced at Aquatech China. Developing new technologies, products and solutions is the key to success for the rapidly growing Chinese and surrounding Asian economies. The organizers of Aquatech China aim to stimulate innovation, which is why they introduced the contest. All nominees were on display at the show in the Innovation Display Zone. The award went to Veolia Water Solutions & Technologies for its Purelab flex of water purification system.

Government Support
The event was strongly supported by the Chinese Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development and other organizations. The show was characterized by 25,000 sq meters of floor space and of the exhibitors at least 50% came from overseas. All international and national market leaders of the water industry were present, such as Norit, GE Water, HaloPure, Philips, Membrana, IMT, DOW, ITT, Pentair and Veolia.

Exhibitors
Exhibitors said they were satisfied with Aquatech China.

“Aquatech China was even better organized this year and stands for a well known exhibition,” said Jae Lee of Danfoss. “It represents a big market field in which water partners come and share new ideas and products. The show was very helpful for our business.”

Angie Park of DM Bio Co. Ltd. appreciated the focus on different industry segments.

“We participated in Aquatech China and our main goal was to promote our health care products,” said Dominik Straetling of Boerger Pumps. “We found many potential buyers and we will surely join again next year. It was the first time for us to participate in Aquatech China. The show exceeded our expectations and we plan to be there again next year.”
