Firm says Cross has played a key role in navigating ESA through a challenging economy

Environmental Science Associates (ESA) announced that Ellen Cross has been promoted to senior vice president. Cross joined ESA as vice president and regional director for ESA’s San Francisco Bay Area Region in January 2008, building upon her longstanding professional alliance with the firm, through which she assisted in ESA’s ongoing and successful penetration of the California water industry, according to the company.

As regional director, Cross manages the firm’s nearly $19-million regional operations portfolio as well as helping drive ESA’s market share growth in multiple market sectors including water, energy, renewable resources, community development, cultural and biological resources. Over the last two years, Cross has played a key role in navigating ESA through a challenging economy while continuing to grow the firm’s team of experts and reinforce ESA’s strong market position. During her brief tenure, she has led the firm’s largest business region to exceed its financial goals through a robust collaborative business approach.

“Ellen is a catalyst for change, in all the right ways--she has repositioned ESA’s San Francisco Bay area regional operations for continuing and long-term success by promoting technical excellence and fostering a vibrant, team-oriented business culture,” said Gary Oates, ESA CEO.

Cross has more than 20 years of experience developing business opportunities and creating forums for strategic vision, collaboration and growth. She has experience in the environmental and engineering industries, working with both public and private sector clients, to implement strategic programs that translate into business growth. Her clients include municipalities, sanitation districts, water agencies, developers, environmental and urban planning consultants, industrial companies and federal agencies.
