Piedmont Concrete in Charlotte, N.C., acquired

With the goal of providing customers with a total product line offering, Advanced Drainage Systems Inc. (ADS) announced it has acquired Piedmont Concrete (Pineville, N.C.), a manufacturer of precast sanitary and storm water structures. This latest acquisition follows the April 2010 purchase of the Foltz Concrete Pipe Co. of Winston-Salem, N.C. Piedmont Concrete, founded in 2006, provides precast concrete structures to underground utility contractors in both the public and private markets from its plant near Charlotte, NC.

"This is another progressive step in our desire to be a full service supplier to the underground utility market," said Joe Chlapaty, chairman and CEO of ADS. "Having the capability to deliver all the components such as corrugated HDPE pipe, RCP, fittings, concrete structures, water quality units, Nyloplast and StormTech is a huge benefit to the contractor. That is why we continue to look for companies with an excellent reputation and superior, innovative products such as Piedmont."

The addition of concrete structures to the ADS product line will also be supported by the ADS engineers and sales staff who work with customers.

"We are proud to deliver quality structures to our customers that meet their exacting needs on a timely basis," said Chris Pool, founder of Piedmont Concrete. “ADS will enable Piedmont to expand this capability."
