Each of the two phases of this water filtration project treats 39.6 mgd

In the last five months, Izmir, Turkey, the third largest city and the second largest port after Istanbul, on the Gulf of Izmir by the Aegean Sea, completed a two-phase project for arsenic removal from its metropolitan water supply with GreensandPlus from Inversand USA. Each of the two phases of this water filtration project treats 39.6 million gal per day.

“Everyone in the world has problems due to the scarcity of water resources and because of this we have to save our water,” said the mayor of the Izmir metropolitan municipality, Aziz Kocaoglu.

Coincidentally, the arsenic removal project is also in line with the ongoing Izmir, Turkey water saving campaign, Water Is Life, Don’t Waste It.

Nema Kimya is a member of the Nema Holding group of companies and provided this installation. Inversand Co. shipped 25 containers of GreensandPlus to Nema Kimya with each container holding 20 metric tons for the 12,500 cu ft total required to complete this project.
