WEF/AWWA Specialty Conference to Highlight Effective Utility Management

Jan. 22, 2010
Utility Management 2010 scheduled for Feb. 21 to 24 in San Francisco

The Water Environment Federation (WEF) and the American Water Works Assn. (AWWA), in collaboration with the California Water Environment Assn., will jointly present Utility Management 2010 from Feb. 21 to 24 at the InterContinental San Francisco in San Francisco.

The conference will aim to tackle the toughest issues currently facing water and wastewater utilities and provide new insight and ideas for utility leaders through workshops, presentations, roundtable discussions and networking with key utility decision-makers. Recognized as a leading management conference for water and wastewater professionals, attendees will also learn strategies for future challenges.

Conference topics will focus on “The Five Keys to Management Success” and “The 10 Attributes of Effectively Managed Water Sector Utilities,” first identified by the Effective Utility Management (EUM) Collaborating Associations in May 2007. The EUM associations, including WEF, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and five other water sector organizations, have been working together for more than three years to promote effective water utility management to achieve long-term sustainability.

Those encouraged to attend include water and wastewater utility managers, public works directors, district managers, water and wastewater treatment professionals, consultants, public officials and regulatory board members.
