Cambridge Water Technology to Provide Phosphorous Removal System for Maynard, Mass.

Nov. 12, 2009
CWT awarded contract to install its CoMag tertiary treatment technology

Cambridge Water Technology (CWT), a provider of solutions for the water treatment industry, has been awarded a contract to install its CoMag tertiary treatment technology to reduce phosphorus to less than 0.1 mg/L in the effluent of the Maynard, Mass., wastewater treatment plant.

Prior to the contract award, CWT piloted its CoMag technology at Maynard. The company said it demonstrated its consistent ability to achieve effluent less than 0.1mg/L under all flow and load conditions and without the need for quaternary media filtration.

In implementing CoMag, the company said Maynard will meet its current and all likely future permit limits relating to phosphorus and greatly enhance the quality of the town’s discharge into the Assabet River.

Maynard joins the Massachusetts towns of Concord, Billerica, Sturbridge and Charlton that utilize CoMag as their technology for effluent phosphorus control and reduction.
