FIJI natural artesian water meets NSF Intl., FDA and EU standards for safety and quality

NSF Intl. recently announced that FIJI Water, a leading importer of bottled water, has achieved NSF Intl. Bottled Water Certification. Third-party bottled water certification from NSF Intl. helps ensure the safety and quality of FIJI Water worldwide.

In order to achieve NSF Intl. Certification, FIJI Water’s facility in Yaqara, Fiji, was subject to a rigorous audit to verify that the bottling facility met all certification requirements, including Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point (HACCP), which are widely-accepted standards for food safety.

FIJI bottled water was also tested to both U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and European requirements for more than 160 chemicals, inorganic, radiological and microbiological contaminants.

“NSF Intl. Certification will enable us to further demonstrate our emphasis on quality to our customers and the high standards we set for our water,” said Loren Merrick, FIJI Water director of product quality. “We send staff members around the world to obtain training with lab and quality experts, including NSF Intl.’s headquarters in Ann Arbor, Mich., to ensure we stay current with quality control standards.”

Additional information on FIJI Water’s certification is available on NSF’s website. Ongoing testing and annual audits will ensure continued compliance with NSF Intl. standards, as well as U.S. and European requirements.

“Obtaining NSF Intl. Certification underscores Fiji’s commitment to quality, safety and customer satisfaction,” said Chris Dunn, general manager of NSF Intl.’s Beverage Quality program.
