Bord na Mona Environmental Products U.S., Inc. recently announced the appointment of Raymond Peat to the position of director of business development, reporting directly to company president Shane Keaney.
Effective immediately, Peat assumes complete responsibility for the development and implementation of all North American business development programs in support of Bord na Mona’s residential and commercial wastewater and water reuse treatment systems. “Raymond Peat brings a solid track record of proven business development success to Bord na Mona,” Keaney said. “He has the experience, the contacts and the talent to drive immediate and long-term sales growth.”
Peat comes to Bord na Mona from Premier Tech Environment, the Quebec-based environmental business unit of the $300-million French Canadian company Premier Tech, where he served as director of market development. In this capacity, Peat developed all sales, marketing and application engineering plans for new market penetration as well as contributing new product ideas to the company’s innovation, research and development team.
Prior to this, Peat was with Shawnee, Kan.-based Bio-Microbics, Inc. from 1996 to 2008, where he served as national marketing manager, vice president of marketing and vice president of marketing and international sales. Bio-Microbics is a privately owned affiliate manufacturer of water, wastewater and storm water equipment and products. In his 12 years at Bio-Microbics, Peat is credited with taking a start-up company and building it into a global market leader.

Raymond Peat was awarded a bachelor of science degree in chemistry and a bachelor of arts degree in music from Emporia State University in Emporia, Kan. Active in a wide variety of industry events and associations, Peat is a past president of the National Onsite Wastewater Management Association and served on the Organizing Committee of the first U.S./International Conference on Decentralized Systems in Baltimore in 2007. In addition, he is extensively involved in the Water Environment Federation, United States Department of Commerce’s U.S. Commercial Service and the Business Marketing Association.
