Brent A. Fewell Joins United Water as Vice President of Environmental Compliance

United Water recently announced that Brent A. Fewell has joined the company as vice president of environmental compliance. In this capacity, Fewell is responsible for developing, implementing and maintaining the company’s environmental compliance program for its operations throughout North America. United Water is a subsidiary of Suez Environnement.

"In the last decade, management of the natural environment has become one of the most important issues facing our industry today," said Bob Iacullo, president of United Water. "Our company has a long history of being an environmental leader in the water and wastewater industry and I strongly believe that Brent’s expertise will further strengthen our commitment to proactive environmental practices."

Prior to joining United Water, Fewell served as the principal deputy assistant administrator at the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA) Office of Water where he had responsibility for overseeing the development and implementation of all facets of the EPA’s water programs. He also practiced environmental law with two of the nation’s leading law firms—Hunton and Williams in Washington, D.C., and Jones Day in Pittsburgh. Earlier in his career, Fewell worked at engineering firms where he managed a variety of environmental projects.

"His background in government, law and environmental engineering provides the depth of experience we need for our diverse operations across the United States. Fewell has a B.S in wildlife management from the University of Maine, a Master’s in environmental management from Duke University and a J.D. from Duquesne University School of Law.
