AWWA Launches Operator Series of Webcasts Sept. 9

"Plant to Tap: The Importance of Disinfection” presented in collaboration with Denver Water

On Wednesday, Sept. 9, the American Water Works Association (AWWA) will present the first webcast in the Fall Operator Series, “Plant to Tap: The Importance of Disinfection.” Presented in collaboration with Denver Water, this webcast will focus on current issues related to water treatment plants and distribution systems.

Webcast presenters will include information on types of failures experienced in drinking water systems related to disinfection practices, options for applying chlorine-based disinfectants in a water treatment process and challenges in a distribution system and the relationship of disinfection/disinfectants to those issues.

Webcast presenters include:
• Sharon Williams, unit manager, Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment;
• Jason Curl, drinking water process engineer, CH2M Hill;
• Zach Lovato, water conservation technician, Denver Water; and
• John Hughes, Opflow Editor, AWWA (Moderator).
