Utility Service Co., Inc., and PAX Water Technologies, Inc., have announced an exclusive partnership agreement.

Under the agreement, Utility Service Co. will offer the PAX Mixer, a submersible active mixing system designed for potable water storage tanks, as part of its WaterMix program. The WaterMix Solutions program is designed to enable water managers to achieve cleaner water, more stable operations and reduce the risks of noncompliance through a combination of unique technologies and regular maintenance.

Utility Service’s nationwide staff of experienced tank maintenance crews is trained to install the PAX Water Mixer and ensure its reliable operation. Utility Service Co. will be the exclusive distributor in the eastern, central and southern U.S.

“The partnership with PAX will enable Utility Service Co. to provide our customers with the latest technology to enhance our overall asset maintenance services and improve water quality,” said Chris Boyd, president of Utility Service Co.

The PAX Mixer is a small submersible mixing system that actively circulates water throughout a tank or reservoir, and has been proven to eliminate thermal stratification and ensure thorough distribution of disinfectant residual. The PAX Mixer allows water managers to maintain water quality, optimize storage, conserve water, reduce energy and reduce chemical inputs, saving time, money and manpower. The PAX Water Mixer was voted the winner of the People’s Choice Award in the AWWA New Technology Showcase in 2007.

“We are delighted to be working with Utility Service Company,” said Peter Fiske, Ph.D. chief technology officer, PAX Water Technologies. “Active mixing and thorough tank maintenance work together to promote the highest-quality water in the distribution system.”
