JM Eagle recently announced that its EverPEX five-layered cross-linked polyethylene tubing has completed the NSF certification process and is now available for use in potable water applications.
Providing contractors and builders with additional options for plumbing applications, JM Eagle's five-layered EverPEX is extremely flexible and can be bent to accommodate all types of building designs and frameworks.
"In addition to its unique flexibility and strength, it's lightweight, easy to carry and transport, and requires few fittings, allowing for quick and simple installation,” said Mike Burnetta, HDPE national sales manager at JM Eagle.
EverPEX has a unique oxygen barrier in the middle wall that protects the outer layer from physical damage, including scratches and gouges.
Typically used for residential and commercial plumbing, JM Eagle produces PEX in 1/4-, 3/8-, 1/2-, 5/8-, 3/4-, 1-, 1¼- and 1½-in. diameters in red, white and blue.
EverPEX achieved its certification by completing physical performance testing in accordance with ASTM F876/F877, CSA B137.5, and NSF Standard 14; chlorine resistance testing in accordance with ASTM F2023; chemical extraction testing in accordance with ANSI/NSF Standard 61; and validation of HDS in accordance with PPI TR-3 at temperatures of 73 F, 180 F and 200 F.
