Fravel also named Educator of the Year at SEDA’s Spring Symposium

Dow Water & Process Solutions has announced that Harold Fravel, Jr., senior industry manager, has been appointed by the Southeast Desalting Association’s (SEDA) board of directors as president. Founded in 1994, SEDA is committed to the advancement of the newest technologies of membrane treatment for groundwater, surface water, seawater and wastewater.

As president of the board of directors, Fravel will help further SEDA’s mission of improving all forms of water supplies utilizing membrane treatment technologies. The organization has approximately 700 voting members, as well as an additional 250 non-voting members.

“SEDA is fortunate to have someone as committed to its mission as Harold on its board,” said Lance Johnson, commercial director for Dow Water & Process Solutions. “Harold’s leadership and vision will allow the organization to address the challenges it is currently facing, as well as assist end users in achieving their business goals.”

Fravel has also been selected by SEDA as the recipient for the organization’s 2009 Educator of the Year Award. The Educator of the Year Award recognizes one individual’s outstanding ability to convey complex information and real-world experiences to the benefit of all professionals working in the water and wastewater industries.

Fravel received the award at the SEDA Spring Symposium in Clearwater Beach, Fla., in June. The association includes members concerned with environmental regulations and legislation, process design, equipment manufacture, plant operations and maintenance, and research and development, throughout the Southeastern U.S. region.
