Envista Corp., a provider of Web-based software for infrastructure project coordination, has announced Tom Bergeron, vice president of sales, will be a speaker at the upcoming Annual Summer Workshop of the New England Chapter of the American Public Works Association (NEAPWA). The event will be held at the Lighthouse Inn, West Dennis, Mass., from July 17 to 19, 2009. Envista will also be demonstrating the application at the conference.
Bergeron will present “Managing the Right of Way: Using a Map-Driven Solution to Reduce Street Cuts.” His presentation will cover how Web-based coordination among towns, cities, utilities and highway agencies identifies project conflicts and optimizes project timing. Massachusetts communities of various sizes are implementing Envista technology including Lowell, Pembroke, Harwich and Scituate. Currently, Envista displays hundreds of paving, water and sanitation projects in these towns. This unique, coordinated approach helps to optimize the planning process for construction and maintenance work, reduce street cuts and reduce the impact on commuters and neighborhoods during the paving and construction season.
Bergeron is a 20-plus-year veteran of the computer-aided design and the architectural, engineering, and construction industries. He has worked extensively with various North American Departments of Transportation and major architectural and engineering firms prior to joining Envista. He holds a BS in Electrical Engineering from the University of Massachusetts--Lowell.
