CH2M Hill Wins Contract for Spokane Water Reclamation Facility

Facility will expand Spokane County’s treatment capacity from 8 mgd to 24 mgd

CH2M HILL has received a contract from the Spokane County Commissioners in the state of Washington to design, build and operate a new wastewater treatment facility.

Under the contract, which is valued at about $127 million, CH2M HILL will design and build the new Regional Water Reclamation Facility, which will expand the county’s wastewater treatment capacity from 8 million gal per day (mgd) to 24 mgd.

The facility will utilize state-of-the-art membrane bioreactor and nutrient removal systems to reduce phosphorus levels in the county’s wastewater to less than 50 parts per billion. Under the contract, CH2M HILL will operate the facility for 20 years.
