WQA, PWQA Past President Bill Fritzsche Passes Away

Fritzsche was extremely active in the water industry as well as business and community affairs

Bill Fritzsche, past president of the Water Quality Association (WQA) in 1985 and of the Pacific Water Quality Association (PWQA) in 1965 to 1966, passed away Monday, April 6, 2009.

Fritzsche was a former owner of Rayne Water Conditioning of Long Beach, Calif., and director of the Rayne Corp., then in Santa Barbara, Calif. As a resident of Pacific Palisades, Fritzsche was active in business and community affairs for 50 years.

He served as past director of the Santa Monica Chamber of Commerce, and also for the Santa Monica College Associates. Fritzsche received numerous awards from both the WQA and the PWQA over his illustrious career, including WQA’s Key Award in 1980 and PWQA’s Hall of Fame Award in 1978. He is survived by his wife, Dolores, his children and grandchildren.
