Mike Worlton Joins AMEC in Arizona

Worlton is a senior member of AMEC’s Earth and Environmental division and leader of new practice in Arizona

AMEC, the international engineering and project management company, has added Mike Worlton, P.E., as a senior member of its Earth and Environmental division and leader of a new water and wastewater practice in Arizona.

Worlton provides AMEC with an impressive array of experience involving project management and technical oversight for the design, planning and construction management of water and wastewater projects throughout Arizona. His background includes the analysis and design of water mains, sewer mains, wells and tanks, pump stations, lift stations and force mains, water and wastewater treatment plants and reservoirs. Recent clients have included a broad range of municipalities in the west Phoenix area, including Peoria, Glendale, Avondale and Surprise.

With AMEC, Worlton’s new water and wastewater practice joins three existing water practices in Arizona—groundwater, irrigation/storm water management, and drainage/floodplain management. Worlton will be located in AMEC’s Phoenix office and report to Water Resources Manager and Technical Director Ed Latimer in the Tempe office.

Worlton is a registered civil engineer in Arizona and California and is a Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED)-certified professional. He is president-elect of the Arizona Society of Civil Engineers, a member of the Peoria Planning and Zoning Commission, former president of the Phoenix brand of the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) and former president of Civil Toastmasters. In 2003 he was named ASCE’s Western Regional Outstanding Young Civil Engineer in the Private Sector. Worlton has bachelor’s and master’s degrees in Civil Engineering from Brigham Young University.
