Philips specializes in highway, municipal, water resources, structural and land development engineering services

Global engineering and project management firm AMEC and Philips Engineering Ltd. have signed an agreement whereby AMEC will acquire Philips Engineering’s assets and ongoing operations.

Philips Engineering employs about 70 people and specializes in highway, municipal, water resources, structural and land development engineering services. AMEC said that Philips will provide it with infrastructure capabilities in Eastern Canada at a time when the Canadian and Ontario governments have committed to substantial economic stimulus spending on infrastructure system upgrades, maintenance, and asset management.

“Philips offers excellent infrastructure capabilities, an established public sector client base and a strong strategic fit for AMEC in Eastern Canada,” said Laurie Davidson, executive vice president of AMEC’s Earth and Environmental division.
