TBE Group, Inc. has announced that Sam Militello, P.E., its chief operating officer (COO), has retired from the company effective Sept. 15th, 2008, coincidental with the completion of TBE’s merger with Australian infrastructure services group Cardno, Ltd. Militello has served as the company’s COO for the past nine years.
Craig Snyder, C.P.A., previously TBE’s chief financial officer (CFO), was promoted to the company’s COO position, succeeding Militello.
Militello’s career in engineering spans more than 47 years and has included executive positions with Greiner Engineering, URS Corp. and DMJM. He has also served as president of the Florida Section of the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) and president of the Florida Institute of Consulting Engineers (FICE). While at TBE, Militello led TBE’s operating divisions through a period of growth in net revenue from $18 million in 1999 to $57 million.
Reflecting on his retirement from TBE, Militello commented, “I have been considering retirement for a long time and the merger of TBE with Cardno presented a good opportunity to finally do so. TBE starts a new chapter in its almost 25 year history, so it is an ideal time to turn over the COO role to someone else.”
Snyder joined TBE as the firm’s corporate controller in 1997 and was promoted to CFO in 1998. His career encompasses over 24 years of financial and business management experience, the latest 19 years based within the consulting engineering industry. Snyder has regularly participated in programs sponsored by the FICE and has on several occasions led the annual FICE/Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) workshops for financial managers.
Patrick L. Beyer, P.E., TBE’s chief executive officer (CEO), said, “Sam has been instrumental to our growth and success during his tenure with TBE. From his contributions, we are well positioned to carry forward with a new chapter in our journey of profitable growth. Craig Snyder is ideally suited for the new COO role with TBE. Having served as TBE’s CFO for the last 11 years, he has worked very closely with Sam and is very familiar with all of TBE’s operations. Craig has a very strong financial management background, which will be a valuable asset while working in an investor-owned public company environment.”
