ECOfluid Systems to Supply Wastewater Treatment to British Columbia Resorts

Company awarded two contracts for wastewater treatment plants

ECOfluid Systems recently announced it has been awarded two separate contracts to supply wastewater treatment facilities at popular resorts in Whistler and the Okanagan, British Columbia.

Justin Hebner, ECOfluid’s marketing manager, said the contracts continue to show the popularity of the USBF technology among private developers. “The modularity of design allows owners to stage plant development and ensures that plants can quickly expand if and when growth demands, significantly reducing immediate capital costs.”

At both locations high quality effluent was stipulated: <10 mg/L BOD/TSS and <400 mpn/100 ml fecal coliform. To meet these requirements, the wastewater treatment plants will utilize ECOfluid’s patented USBF technology followed by disinfection, ultraviolet in Whistler and chlorination using hypochlorite tablets in the Okanagan.

Preliminary site work has begun at both locations, with work expected to be completed by the third quarter of 2009.
