Dow Water Solutions to Expand in Spain and Minnesota

Dow will invest approximately $88 million in Minnesota capacity expansion and $11 million in new facility in Tarragona, Spain

Dow Water Solutions, the water treatment equipment unit of Dow Chemical Co., Midland, Mich., announced that it plans to significantly expand its manufacturing capabilities at its facility in Edina, Minn., and to establish new application development and component testing capacity in Spain.

In Minnesota, Dow Water Solutions will invest approximately $88 million in the expansion of its capacity for manufacturing reverse osmosis devices, nanofiltration membranes and other water treatment components. The expansion will be the third at the Edina plant within the past eight years.

In Spain, Dow Water Solutions plans to invest $11 million in the establishment of a new Water Technology Development Center at the Dow complex in Tarragona. The new center will host product application development and component testing operations to accelerate the commercialization of membrane and ultrafiltration technologies.
