Company put priority on sustainability in each location

Grundfos, a leading manufacturer and supplier of advanced technology pumps and pumping systems, is a major supplier to the architects, consulting engineers, contractors and venue owners at the 2008 Summer Olympic Games.

The Beijing National Stadium, more commonly known as the Bird's Nest, serves as the centerpiece for the 2008 Games. The National Stadium represents just one of the 17 sites Grundfos has supplied to in Beijing.

In each location, Grundfos aimed to put sustainability first in the form of better and more efficient pumps, and the focus has been on achieving major energy savings and environmental protection.

"Grundfos provided reliable and energy saving pumps, which met our unique specifications for the stadium. Grundfos' strong service team offers the assurance that they will be able to solve any downtime issue efficiently and without affecting the operation of the stadium," said Zhang Xin Ming, head of machinery and electronic division, Beijing City Construction Group.

Another memorable site is the National Aquatic Centre. Also known as the Water Cube, it employs water at its thematic center. "Grundfos cares about the entire system, not only their pumps. Their careful system commissioning, and making sure all went well, meant a great deal to me," said Chen Chun Lei, project manager, China Construction First Division Constructing & Developing Company.

The builders of the 2008 Summer Games have taken advantage of Grundfos’ numerous fields of application expertise, including water supply, heating, pressure boosting, fire fighting, wastewater, air conditioning, NOx reduction and dosing.
