Actaris Releases Flostar Single Jet Meters in Turbine Lay Lengths

New single jets capture revenue missed by turbine meters

Actaris, an Itron company, has introduced the Flostar single jet line of commercial and industrial meters in American Water Works Association (AWWA) turbine standard lay lengths, allowing utilities to account for water that is unmeasured by their currently installed turbine meters.

Over the years, many turbine meters have been placed into applications where they often encounter flow rates that are lower than the meters’ capabilities. Flostar single jet meters provide significantly lower flow rates than turbines and are easier to maintain. “With AWWA standard turbine lay lengths, the new Flostar meters offer utilities an easy, drop-in-and-go solution for recovering previously lost revenue,” said Andrew Dudley, product manager for commercial and industrial meters.
