Registration and housing is now open for WEFTEC.08, the Water Environment Federation’s 81st annual technical exhibition and conference. This year’s event will take place Oct. 18-22, 2008, at McCormick Place in Chicago.
If it’s about water, it will be at WEFTEC. As the largest water quality conference in North America, WEFTEC continues to grow in size and scope. A world-class technical program of 115 technical sessions, 29 workshops and eight local facility tours offers water quality professionals from around the world the best water quality education and training available today.
A wide range of topics and focus areas allow attendees to design their own, unique learning experience while earning up to 35 contact hours for continuing education units and 9 professional development hours. Focus areas include collection systems, membrane technologies, plant operations and treatment, regulations, research, residuals and biosolids, utility management, water reuse/recycling and water quality and watershed management.
The exhibition—the largest annual gathering of water and wastewater products in the world—provides access to the latest developments, research, regulations, solutions and cutting-edge technologies in the field. More than 1,000 exhibiting companies are expected in Chicago and over 880 companies have already reserved a record-breaking 281,000 net sq ft of floor space at McCormick Place.
Other conference highlights include the Opening General Session, Operations Challenge, AEESP/WEF Scientist Luncheon and Lecture, WEFTeach, Global Center, poster presentations, award presentations, student activities and the Utility Partnership Program.
