Vital Living Products Inc., manufacturer of PurTest® water testing kits, disclosed that it has shipped PurTest to ACE Canada, a division of ACE Hardware Corporation, for nationwide Canadian distribution.
Water quality issues became front page news this May in southern Ontario with E. coli bacteria outbreaks in the Walkerton municipal water system, affecting hundreds of Canadians, killing five people and hospitalizing dozens of others. Confidence in municipal water quality has been similarly challenged in the United States because of the hundreds of "boil notices" that have been issued by public suppliers across America. EPA Director Carol Browner has warned that drinking water quality cannot be taken for granted, and a Water Quality Association has disclosed 1 of every 3 consumers surveyed believe their water is unsafe.
