Craig Close Joins HDR

Craig Close has joined HDR as national director of management and planning services for the water business group. His responsibilities include developing the firm's technical resources and responding to clients’ needs for management and planning services related to their water assets. Close is based in the San Diego office.

Prior to joining HDR, Close was an associate vice president and senior project director for PBS&J, providing professional and project management services encompassing engineering planning, design, permitting and construction management of complex water and wastewater infrastructure and facility projects. His 25 years of experience also includes serving as vice president of operations for the western region of the American Water Works Service Company, Inc.

Close serves on the American Water Works Association Standards Committee on Tendon Prestressed Concrete Tanks and also is an active member of the Water Environment Federation, American Public Works Association, National Society of Professional Engineers and American Society of Civil Engineers. Close also is a Diplomate of The American Academy of Environmental Engineers.
