Invitrogen and IDEXX Collaborate to Supply Technologies for Drinking Water Safety Testing

Invitrogen Corporation and IDEXX Laboratories, Inc. have entered into a strategic collaboration for the distribution and development of new products for the water testing industry.

Under the terms of this agreement, IDEXX will be responsible for distribution and marketing of water testing kits that utilize Invitrogen's broad portfolio of technologies, including Invitrogen's Dynabeads GC-Combo, which will be used for the selective enrichment of Giardia and Cryptosporidium directly from water sample concentrates.

"By partnering with IDEXX we are creating a more complete workflow solution and product offering with unmatched quality for our customers," said Paul Kinnon, vice president and general manager of Invitrogen's Applied Markets business unit. "This continues our strategy to diversify into applied markets, leveraging our broad portfolio of innovative technologies. It is our intention to continue to create enhanced technologies to better serve this and other markets."
