The 2007 U.S. EPA/National Ground Water Association (NGWA) Fractured Rock Conference: State of the Science and Measuring Success in Remediation, will take place Sept. 24-26 in Portland, Maine.
This third-in-a-series conference of international engineers, scientists, regulators, responsible parties, researchers, and students focuses on innovative remediation technologies.
The keynote address will be delivered by Norm Niedergang, director of the EPA’s Technology Innovation and Field Services Division. Other highlights include:
- Panel discussion—Performance Assessment: Measuring Success in Remediation
- Panel discussion—Technical Impracticability: Understanding the Regulatory Approach and Approval
- Workshop—Fate, Transport, and Remediation of Chlorinated Solvents in Fractured Sedimentary Rocks at the Former Naval Air Warfare Center, West Trenton, New Jersey.
The conference also will feature an industry exhibition and field trip as well as social activities including a lobster bake.
