City officials of Cumberland, Md., will migrate their 11,000 water meters to the FlexNet system, an Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI) solution by Sensus Metering Systems, in partnership with local distributor L/B Water Service. Cumberland recently selected Sensus for the overhaul of its 40-square mile service area, which will focus on changing existing TouchRead and RadioRead water meter reading equipment to FlexNet.
“Our service area’s terrain is extremely challenging, ranging from urban to mountainous terrain and remote rural locations,” said Robert Rider, superintendent of technical services for the City of Cumberland. “FlexNet’s ability to accurately transmit water usage data in and around the Cumberland area will definitely be an asset to us.”
