Water Treatment Worker Ill After Chlorine Leak

A worker became ill after a chlorine leak occurred at a water treatment plant in Phoenix.

After a malfunction was reported, firefighters were called to the Lake Pleasant Water Treatment Plant.

According to AZCentral.com, the affected worker had to be taken to the hospital for treatment. A hazardous-materials team checked out the plant and deemed it was safe an hour later.

The $226 million treatment plant is scheduled to become operational next year.
