Sensus Bolsters AMI Leadership Team

Oct. 6, 2006

Sensus Metering Systems Inc. has announced the creation of an Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI) organization. This announcement comes after the company acquired the assets of Advanced Metering Data Systems, LLC ( AMDS).

A group of industry veterans now lead this organization, in order to provide a common and comprehensive strategy for Sensus AMI.

Doug McCall is the new AMI Marketing Director; Marc Reed is the Director of Communications Technology; Gregg Larson is the new Director of AMI Operations; and Mark Hardee is Controller, AMI. All four report to George Uram, vice president Electric and AMI.

“These professionals will play a key role in moving our corporate strategy forward from metering to an organization that provides complete metering system solutions,” said Uram. “This structure represents our commitment to the FlexNet (formerly AMDS) technology, as it is now our core AMI offering to the market. We also see the expertise of these key resources enhancing Sensus’ technical capabilities in meeting the needs of our customers for advanced metering infrastructure.”

McCall will be responsible for marketing all Sensus AMI and AMR products across the gas, water and electricity sectors. McCall joined Sensus in 2000, and has held various sales and marketing positions. Most recently, McCall spent four years as Director of Sales, leading the sales organization for all electricity metering and AMI products. Prior to joining Sensus, McCall held positions at Elster Electricity Metering (formerly ABB) and the Nuclear Fuels Division of General Electric. He has a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from North Carolina State University.

Reed is a two-decade veteran of the metering industry, specializing in systems, software and hardware designs. Reed was a founding principal of AMDS, and began his career at Dallas-based defense contractor E-Systems. Reed has specialized in the design and implementation of wireless data links and has multiple granted patents and patents pending. Reed holds Bachelor and Master of Science degrees in Electrical Engineering from Louisiana State University.

Larson formerly served AMDS in its network operations unit. He has extensive experience with the operations side of the metering industry. Prior to AMDS, Larson directed network operations for CellNet, where he reduced operational costs by more than 50 percent while improving system performance and overseeing the successful installation of more than 2 million meters. He also held positions at Wilcox Electric and Alliant Techsystems. Larson holds an Electrical Engineering degree from the University of Minnesota and is a Certified Information Systems Security Professional.

Hardee will be responsible for the financial management for all Sensus AMI and AMR product offerings. He joined Sensus in 2004 and moved to AMI from Corporate Financial Reporting and Analysis where he was responsible for all public reporting requirements. Prior to joining Sensus, Hardee held financial positions at Cooper Tools, Inc. Hardee holds bachelors degrees in both Finance and Accounting from North Carolina State University and is a Certified Public Accountant.
