URS announced that it has been awarded an indefinite delivery/indefinite quantity contract by the U.S. Bureau of Reclamation to provide engineering services to Reclamation's Mid-Pacific Regional office, which serves northern and central California, central Nevada and a portion of southern Oregon.
Under the terms of the contract, as Reclamation issues specific task orders, URS will provide a range of engineering support services, including water availability and economic studies, natural resources planning, and endangered species and cultural resources assessments, for water resource projects in the California Bay-Delta and flood control projects in California's Central Valley. The five-year contract has a maximum value to URS of $50 million.
"This is an important win for our Company, which further expands our work supporting the Bureau of Reclamation on critical water resources planning and flood control projects,” said V. Jandegian, president of URS Division. “URS has extensive experience providing engineering support services for water resource projects, particularly in California, where we are currently working on a risk management contract with the California Department of Water Resources on the Sacramento-San Joaquin Delta levees. URS has provided water resources planning services to Reclamation under consecutive contracts since 1996, and we look forward to continuing our strong relationship."
