Missouri Recommends Boiling Water

July 24, 2006

The Missouri Department of Natural Resources is working with the State Emergency Management Agency and local officials to assess the severe weather storm damages that recently struck eastern Missouri.

Due to severe weather, some communities are experiencing low water pressure and, in some instances, complete water outages. Inadequate water pressure may result in contamination of the water supply, therefore individuals in the affected communities are encouraged to conserve water and boil their drinking water when service returns.

The department is encouraging individuals who are experiencing water outages or who have questions about their drinking water to contact the nearest Department of Natural Resources' Regional Office. The addresses and phone numbers are located on the department's Web site at www.dnr.mo.gov/regions/regions.htm.
