U.S. Surgeon General Addresses San Antonio Gathering of Water Professionals

U.S. Surgeon General Richard H. Carmona addressed water professionals at the American Water Works Association’s (AWWA) Annual Conference and Exposition on Tuesday, June 13 in San Antonio, Texas. Dr. Carmona’s speech emphasized priorities for public health protection and preparedness. He also discussed the important role of the drinking water community in contributing to the nation’s public health and safety.

The Surgeon General’s address is one of several exciting highlights during the AWWA Annual Conference and Exposition (ACE06). The five-day event, beginning on June 11, features the most extensive professional program in the water industry and an exposition showcasing the latest and most significant water technology in the world. More than 12,000 water professional from across North America and beyond will visit San Antonio to take part in the event.
