KDS Equipment to be Installed at Wastewater Treatment Plant in Seoul, Korea
First American Scientific Corp., through its licensee, “First American Scientific Korea,” and in cooperation with the Ministry of Environment, Republic of Korea, announced the sale of its new model KDS Micronex S-6 to demonstrate its ability to reduce and dewater municipal sewage sludge at a Municipal Waste Water Treatment site near Seoul, South Korea. The equipment is expected to be in place and ready for operation by August 2006.
During the initial trial period, the process will be monitored and documented, and if satisfactory, could result in its endorsement by the Ministry of Environment and the establishment of a permanent facility at the wastewater treatment plant. The KDS has already been proven to efficiently achieve 99.9% pathogen kill without the addition of chemicals or supplemental heat.
According to Brian Nichols, president of FASC, “This will be our first installation using the KDS Micronex in Asia to clean and dewater sewage sludge. There are numerous wastewater treatment plants in South Korea (population 49 million) that process thousands of gallons of domestic sewage and other wastewater each day. If successful, we expect to see our system in use in many cities around the world.”
FASC already has one test KDS system under study at a wastewater treatment plant in the city of Prince George, Canada, and is well positioned to service its markets through a well established network of licensees and affiliates around the world.
