This year's record number of hurricanes has brought unprecedented attention to water and wastewater services, its related infrastructure and the vital role it plays in protecting public health.
Nearly 20,000 water quality experts from across the globe are expected to meet this week in Washington, D.C. to discuss the latest water quality challenges, share expertise and exchange technologies to better serve and protect communities both in the U.S. and abroad.
The latest in water quality research, technology and services will be on display at WEFTEC.05, the Water Environment Federation's 78th Annual Technical Exhibition & Conference from today through Nov. 2 at the Washington Convention Center in Washington, D.C. Attendees are currently choosing from 111 technical sessions, 25 workshops and 11 facility tours; walking an expansive exhibition floor; and learning about cutting-edge water technologies from over 870 exhibiting companies.
Other conference highlights include presentations by top-ranking U.S. EPA officials; a special panel discussion on hurricanes; global speakers and business opportunities; and tie-ins to local water quality issues including the Anacostia redevelopment project.
