Hendrx Corp., a China-based manufacturer, is poised to launch the next generation of multi-functional atmospheric water generators (AWG). Chief marketing officer Anthony Lee said, "We are very excited about the introduction of our UTi or 'utility model,' a multi-functional 6 in 1 machine, which will not only produce water, but will also perform as an air conditioner, heater, dehumidifier, air purifier and water purifier. UTi can be used year-round in all seasons, making it one of the most versatile and cost effective appliances of its time."
Hendrx will initially focus on marketing the "UTi" in China, the United States, the Middle East, Europe and Canada, where the demand for clean water, air conditioning and heating continues to grow at a rapid pace.
China, which has a population of nearly 1.3 billion, has seen tremendous growth in the number of household air conditioners, which is somewhere between 26 to 33 million. The demand is expected to continue to grow commensurate with the rise in overall living standards.
The U.S. air-conditioner industry has also grown exponentially. According to the U.S. Department of Energy's Short-term Energy Outlook, dated September 7, 2005, "The largest sector in the market over the review period is unitary air conditioners, accounting for $6.2 billion, or 21.2% of total market value in 2003."
The demand for water is now a multi-billion dollar per annum industry worldwide.
-- Water is the most purchased non-alcoholic beverage in the United States
-- The water market generates annual sales of more than $7.7 Billion ($3 billion non-carbonated)
-- The water market is growing at 5% annually
Lee concludes, "The multi-functionality of the UTi allows Hendrx to target and penetrate simultaneously the multi-billion dollar markets for air conditioning, heating, dehumidifying, air purification, water purification and water."
