WEF Announces Collections Systems 2005 Conference

May 18, 2005

The Water Environment Federation (WEF) announced today a new educational conference on sustaining our nation's aging infrastructure.

Collection Systems 2005 will be the most comprehensive and up-to-date conference and exhibition related to critical topics in collection systems in North America.

Held in cooperation with the New England Water Environment Association, the event will take place July 17-20 at the John B. Hynes Veterans Memorial Convention Center in Boston.

The four-day conference will cover the current status of issues facing the operation and management of collection systems and wet weather facilities. Experts in the field will present the latest regulations, research, and developments during a comprehensive program comprised of one pre-conference workshop, twelve technical sessions, and two tours of local collection systems projects. Topics include wet weather, odor management, asset management, treatment methods, operation and maintenance, sewer system design, and regulatory and environmental impacts.

Those encouraged to attend include design and engineering consultants, construction professionals, contract operation firm managers/owners, municipal water and wastewater treatment systems operators and managers, pipe, GIS and collection system equipment manufacturers and representatives, local, state and federal regulatory agency personnel, and students.
