A.O. Smith Names Anderson Vice President-Operations

A.O. Smiths Water Products Company has announced the appointment of Steve Anderson as vice president-operations.

In his new position, Anderson will be responsible for the company's residential and commercial water heater manufacturing operations located in Ashland City, Tenn., McBee, S.C., Renton, Wash., and Juarez, Mexico. In addition, the company's continuous improvement and manufacturing engineering functions will report to him.

Anderson joins, A.O. smith from IMI Cornelius, Chicago , Ill., a manufacturer of beverage dispensing equipment, where he was executive vice president of operations. In this assignment, he was responsible for manufacturing operations in the U.S., Mexico and China and also oversaw global procurement.

From 1995 until 2003, he worked for Kennametal/Greenfield of Latrobe, Pa., a manufacturer of steel and carbide metal cutting tools. He held positions of vice president-steel operations with profit and loss responsibility for five business units, and vice president-Drill Business Unit, accountable for manufacturing operations in U.S. and Mexico. He also served as division manager for high-volume carbide insert plant in Orwell, Ohio, and division manager of steel tools systems in Cleveland, Ohio.

Anderson holds a bachelor's degree in business administration from the University of Wisconsin-River Falls.
